Jesse & Courtney | Thailand Destination Wedding
Welcome to the most epic wedding celebration of the year, maybe all time! Jesse and Courtney did it right with a 4 day, all out, party with their friends and family in Koh Samui, Thailand. It was an absolute honor to get to be a part of this banger. I met Courtney while shooting a wedding in the Pacific Northwest, she was bartending the reception, we got into a conversation and instantly hit it off. She told me about her wedding plans in Thailand and how she had already hired a local photographer there to cover it. I didn’t know at the time, but she had made up her mind that she was going to bring me out to Thailand! After making it official, I reached out to my good friend (fellow photographer, and freediving buddy) Doug Falter, from Oahu, to come out and shoot with me. He was in! I knew this would end up being one for the books.
The day after the wedding we had a massive, high-energy, pool party to celebrate (in the afternoon, once everyone had slept in, of course). Jesse even spun some vinyl and DJ’ed for everyone. The oversized floaties was a tradition at Villa Kalyana.
A couple days later, after a good recovery, we went out to do a full day of portraits around the island. We hit the secret gardens, Hin Ta / Hin Yai rocks, and then chartered a traditional long-tail boat to finish things off (wait for it!)
Doug and I were ready to finish this thing off right! We suited up in our freediving gear and jumped right in. After battling the 5-10 knot current for 30 minutes (thank God for long fins), and getting eaten alive by jellyfish, this is what we came up with!
