Meet Your Austin Wedding Photographer: Why I Started and How I Work
When I got married, my wedding photographer was not good. The photos were a letdown, and he was kind of a jerk to be around on one of the biggest days of my life.
I walked away knowing I could do better. I'm Tony Gambino, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, and that bad experience is the reason I do this.
Why I became a wedding photographer
I shot my first wedding in 2010. My goal was simple: fun, creative images, and a photographer who is kind and easy to be around. More than anything, I wanted to bring real customer service to a wedding day.
Since then I have photographed over 400 weddings, close to home and in places like Thailand, Hawaii, and Italy. After years of shooting weddings all over the map, Austin is home now.
What a wedding day with me feels like
I try to bring good energy. I talk with you, I joke with you, and most of the time we are laughing.
I am also there when you are stressed or nervous. I am always happy to give a pep talk, or to help you get focused on the reason we are all here. A wedding day has a lot of moving parts. My job is to help you tune them out and be present.
Customer service is a lost art
We rarely see real customer service these days. To me it means going above and beyond, even when that has nothing to do with taking photos.
I will offer to carry things. I will help your planner or your caterer if they need a hand. I will ask if you need anything, and I will remind you to use the bathroom before you put the dress on. I will help coordinate with guests and vendors. It comes down to being willing to help.
Why I love photographing weddings in Austin and the Hill Country
The rolling hills. The golden hour light. That perfect breeze in the evenings. And the good people. It is hard to beat.
Clients who become friends
I care deeply about my family and my friends, and I always hope my clients turn into lifelong friends. The photos matter, and so does how you felt while we made them.
You can see full weddings in my galleries.
